Oak Brook-based Blistex Inc. said it has completed the acquisition of the Odor-Eaters line of foot care products from Combe Inc. The value of the deal was not disclosed.

“We believe this brand will be a strong complement to our existing product portfolio, both domestically and internationally,” said Michael Donnantuono, president and chief operating officer of Blistex Inc.

Blistex, founded in 1947, manufactures and distributes lip care, skin care, oral care and first aid products in over 75 countries. Its products include Blistex lip care products, Stridex acne treatments and Kank-A oral analgesics, as well as Glysomed skin moisturizers and Dentyl Active oral rinses.

The deal includes rights to sell Odor-Eaters insoles and products all territories in the United States and the more than 30 international markets that have been serviced by Combe.

Combe said Odor-Eaters brand was launched in 1974 and claims it was the first shoe insole for odor and wetness, which was also the first one-size-fits-all design. Other products include insoles, powders and sprays.
