TV show ‘Glee’ to have own nail polish line

The popular TV show “Glee” is coming out with a nail polish of its own, Women’s Wear Daily reported Tuesday.

Sephora plans to introduce a limited edition nail color collection in its stores in February under the beauty retailer’s Sephora by OPI brand, Robert Marick, executive vice president of Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products told the retail trade magazine in an interview. Get the full story »

Alberto Culver settles suit over takeover

Alberto Culver has agreed to settle a shareholder lawsuit over the beauty care company’s proposed $3.7 billion takeover by Unilever NV, lawyers for the investors said.

The settlement is designed to address concerns that the merger agreement might have dissuaded prospective competing acquirers from making better takeover bids, the shareholders’ lawyers said. Get the full story »

AptarGroup sees strong first-quarter earnings

Dow Jones Newswires | Crystal Lake-based AptarGroup Inc.’s first-quarter earnings climbed by nearly half on strength in its core beauty-and-home segment, as the product-dispenser maker projected stronger earnings in the current quarter than analysts expected.

It sees earnings of 60 cents to 65 cents a share, above the average estimate of 56 cents a share from a survey of analysts by Thomson Reuters.
