News Corp.’s  Fox Business Network has signed a multi-year contract with former CNN anchor Lou Dobbs, who will host a daily show on the network beginning in the first quarter.

Dobbs also will appear on  a variety of Fox Business programs to provide analysis and commentary. He will continue to host his radio talk shows and financial reports, Fox Business said.
Dobbs oversaw financial coverage for years on Time Warner Inc.’s CNN, which he left a year ago. At the time, he told viewers “some leaders in media, politics and business have been urging me to go beyond the role here at CNN” to a more activist role. He has been rumored as a potential candidate for political office in recent years.

Fox Business Executive Vice President Kevin Magee said: “Fox Business has always been about putting the smartest, most interesting people on television and the addition of Lou Dobbs will serve to strengthen the best lineup in business news.”
