Grant Thornton picks up Huron practice

Grant Thornton LLP said it bought the assets of Huron Consulting Group’s disputes and investigations practice for an undisclosed sum.

Under the deal, 60 professionals from Huron’s practice will join Grant Thornton’s economic and advisory services groups in Chicago, Boston, New York and San Francisco. The group focuses on business disputes related to merger valuations, intellectual property, taxes and accounting. It also conducts forensic investigations.

Grant Thornton LLP, based in Chicago, is the U.S. member firm of the accounting company Grant Thornton International Ltd.  Huron Consulting is a management consulting firm with headquarters in Chicago.
