Apple to stick to iPad 2 global rollout schedule
Apple Inc. will stick to plans to roll out its newest iPad on Friday to 25 more markets, including France and the United Kingdom, even as it fails to meet the high demand for the gadget in the United States.

BofA testing video ATMs linked to tellers

Bank of America, which continues to prune its branch network nationwide, is piloting the use of video-enabled ATMs where consumers can talk to a remote teller, Bank of America Chief Executive Brian Moynihan said on a visit to Chicago Tuesday.
“Branch design in the future will be different,” Moynihan, who took the top job of the Charlotte, N.C.-based megabank last year, said. He didn’t have information on where the pilots were under way. Get the full story »
Verizon, others bring 4G to more Illinois areas
A number of metropolitan areas in Illinois are getting wireless speed boosts this year as Verizon Wireless, Clearwire and T-Mobile expand and upgrade their 4G networks.
Verizon announced Tuesday that it is adding 59 markets to its 4G network, launched in December in Chicago and 38 other markets. By the end of the year, Bloomington/Normal, Carbondale, Champaign, Rockford and Springfield will also be on the network. Get the full story »

Angry Birds developer plans IPO in U.S.
Rovio, the developer of the Angry Birds mobile game, said it would seek an initial public offering in the United States. “The plan is to seek an IPO in New York, but the specific timing and details are still open,” said Rovio spokesman Ville Heijari in an email on Friday. Get the full story »

Chicago-based wireless carrier U.S. Cellular plans to launch its 4G network by the end of the year, Chief Executive Mary Dillon said Thursday.
Responding to an audience question at a breakfast sponsored by the Executives’ Club of Chicago, Dillon said the company has recently finished trials for its 4G network, which uses a technology called Long-Term Evolution, or LTE. Verizon Wireless and AT&T use the same technology, though the latter company has yet to commercially launch its LTE network. Get the full story »
Nvidia CFO resigns, citing personal reasons
Nvidia Corp. Chief Financial Officer David White has resigned for personal reasons effective May 31, the graphics-chip maker said Tuesday.
Shares fell 2.1 percent, to $17.29, in early after-hours trading. The company’s stock has fallen 22 percent in the last month through Tuesday’s close.
