Libertyville-based Motorola Mobility Inc. said Wednesday it plans to acquire a Swedish company specializing in software for Internet Protocol Television.

Financial terms of the deal with Norrkoping, Sweden-based Dreampark were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter, Motorola said in a statement.

IPTV allows video streams to be distributed via broadband. Motorola says Dreampark will become part of its Converged Experiences business, “complementing (its) mobile device and home experience and broadening its reach across multiple screens.”
