NHL signs U.S. sponsorship deal with Discover
The National Hockey League has signed a one-year sponsorship deal making Discover Financial Services the league’s official U.S. credit card, and its first financial sponsor in that market.
The deal, worth several million dollars including advertising commitments by Discover, puts the NHL’s overall sponsorship revenue about 30 percent above last year’s rate, said Keith Wachtel, NHL senior vice president of corporate sales and marketing. Get the full story »
Allstate to sponsor Wrigley college football game
The Chicago Cubs and Northwestern University said Allstate Corp., the Northbrook-based home and auto insurer, will be the official sponsor for the Nov. 20, 2010 college football game between the Northwestern Wildcats and the Illinois Fighting Illini at Wrigley Field.
Allstate’s sports marketing activities already include college football. It renewed its sponsorship of the Sugar Bowl earlier this summer for another four years. That affiliation began in 2006. Get the full story »
Procter & Gamble to sponsor next 5 Olympics
Procter & Gamble Co. said it will sponsor the next five Olympic Games, through 2020.
