Internet ad sales reached a record high in the third quarter, rising 17 percent compared with last year, according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau

The revenue of $6.4 billion is the highest ever for any quarter. Last year, it was $5.5 billion.

Wednesday’s study by the IAB and PricewaterhouseCoopers suggests that online advertisers are on a roll. In the first quarter, revenue hit $5.9 billion, which at the time was a record for that quarter.
