Google: It’s good to be a dog on Valentine’s Day

Google search trends show that Valentine’s Day searches for “personalized dog gifts” — such as a doggie sweater, collar or water bowl with a pooch’s name on it — are more than 10 percent higher than searches for “personalized husband gifts.”

Overall, searches on Google for “Valentine’s Day dog gifts” are up 30 percent this year over 2010. Get the full story »

After shoveling 20 inches of snow last week, Chicagoans are dreaming of palm trees. But apparently the people with the palm trees are dreaming of…Chicago?

Love, and itemized tax returns, to be in air Feb. 14

The Internal Revenue Service announced Thursday that Feb. 14 — Valentine’s Day — will be the first day it will accept all itemized tax returns.
