ADM buys remaining stake in peanut company

Archer Daniels Midland Co., the world’s largest corn processor and one of the largest U.S. ethanol producers, said in a statement Tuesday that it had acquired the outstanding capital stock of Alimenta (USA) Inc. to control 100 percent of Golden Peanut Co. ADM says late Brazil soy crop to boost US exports

ADM profit tops Street on better margins

Archer Daniels Midland Co., a major corn and soybean processor and ethanol maker, said Tuesday its fourth-quarter net income surged even as sales slipped. The company said the profit boost came mainly from higher volumes and margins. Ethanol profits increased in the United States, as increased demand for soybean products in South America and Europe offset declines in North America.
