Full rollout of Dr Pepper 10 eyed by year-end

Dr Pepper’s 10-calorie soft drink may debut across the United States by the end of the year due to blockbuster reception in six test cities, the head of Dr Pepper Snapple Group said Monday.

Hawaiian Punch updates mascot, formula

Hawaiian Punch is giving Punchy more pop.

Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc., which owns Hawaiian Punch, is giving the fruity drink’s mascot a 21st-Century facelift with new computer-generated design. Punchy’s new three-dimensional surfer look, to be featured on packaging now being shipped and in Internet campaigns starting in February, will try to appeal more to the drink’s target audience of 13-year-olds, who have grown up watching cartoons like Pixar Animation Studio’s Toy Story. FDA warns Canada Dry, Lipton on health claims

Federal health regulators have issued warnings to the makers of Canada Dry ginger ale and Lipton tea for making unsubstantiated nutritional claims about their green tea-flavored beverages.

In a warning letter issued Aug. 30, the Food and Drug Administration takes issue with the labeling of Canada Dry Sparkling Green Tea Ginger Ale. The agency issued a similar letter Aug. 23 to Unilever Inc., over Web site and product labeling for its Lipton Green Tea. Get the full story »
