Business travelers can book rail trips online with Orbitz for Business as a result of a partnership with SilverRail Technologies, an online search and booking service.
Travelers will be able to search and book all U.S.-based Amtrak destinations under the partnership announced Tuesday. Expansion to Canadian and European markets is planned in the future.
“Many of our customers in regions like the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast U.S. have a preference for rail over short-distance flights,” said Frank Petito, president of Chicago-based Orbitz for Business, the corporate travel group of Orbitz Worldwide.
