Daily deal provider LivingSocial said Thursday it has expanded into Chicago’s north suburbs, adding to its roster of more specialized offers for the area.
LivingSocial already offers deals for Chicago, the western suburbs and the northwest suburbs. The Washington, D.C.-based startup also has a “family edition” for Chicago that provides discounts on activities and services for parents and children.
The inaugural deal for the north suburbs is $20 for $40 in food at Kansaku, a sushi restaurant in Evanston.
LivingSocial also launched in three other markets on Thursday: Tallahassee, Fla., South Jersey and Sheffield, England. The company is now in 11 countries with nearly 20 million subscribers. It is considered the nearest competitor to Chicago-based Groupon, which is present in 41 countries and has more than 50 million subscribers.
It’s no surprise that LivingSocial is expanding. They are growing and growing, especially now that Groupon is kind of on the chopping block!

Groupon is really doing the job……I am amazed to see groupon to being so successful and actually i am also a user of groupon i passes over http://grouponbot.com on the net some 2 years ago when this service was launched and from that time i was thinking that someday this site will gain the reputation of facebook and simmilar sites. It offers cool, i mean awesome national deals everywhere especially for the people in UK who seem to be discount hunters!
