CME Group Inc. is still digesting the news that Deutsche Boerse is in talks to buy NYSE Euronext, a top executive said, and it is unclear how difficult a deal it will be to complete.
“We shall see,” CME’s Chief Financial Officer Jamie Parisi said at a Credit Suisse financial services forum on Thursday, noting that the exchange operators have done complex deals before.
NYSE Euronext is itself the product of a trans-Atlantic merger.
“My initial reaction is that it’s fairly complex,” Parisi said.
