India may sign a $3.5 billion deal to buy 10 of Boeing Co’s BA.N C-17 Globemaster III aircraft for its air force, the Economic Times reported on Wednesday.

The deal is likely to be signed during U.S. President Barack Obama’s planned visit to India this November, the newspaper said.

Boeing said in January the Indian Air Force was keen to acquire 10 C-17 Globemaster III aircraft, a deal which Indian defence ministry officials had said would be potentially worth more than $2 billion.
