Winfrey was not scheduled to attend the event held to promote Discovery’s cable channels — including the Oprah Winfrey Network, a joint venture between Discovery and Winfrey — but changed her mind Tuesday afternoon and dropped in about 15 minutes after it started. She got a spotlight welcome.

I saw Oprah riding in her limo about a month or so ago. As I pulled along side the limo on an entrance ramp to the Kennedy, the back window rolled down and it was Oprah. She flagged me to roll my window down and when I did, she asked, “How to I get to 294?”. I suggested she lose 30 pounds.
