Tribune staff report | Fuel prices have decreased in Illinois and
northern Indiana during the past month amid declining oil prices and the strengthening of the U.S. dollar.

AAA Chicago’s Fuel Gauge Report estimates that in Illinois, regular unleaded gasoline has
decreased 15 cents during the past month, forecasting an average cost
of $2.69 per gallon for the month of February, which is still $.78
higher per gallon than last year.

“Oil prices have dropped considerably, which has given consumers some
relief at the pump in the last month” says Beth Mosher, AAA Chicago’s
spokesperson.

  • Cook County: self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages
$2.83, which is down $.13 cents from last month and $.81 higher than
    last year’s price-per-gallon.
  • DuPage County: self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages $2.70 per gallon, which is a 17-cent decrease from January and $.75 higher than last year.

Hey Trib folks, could you print an article when the price of gas goes up 15 cents OVERNIGHT? Too often we see this happen and no one in the media seem to care.

great point Joeschmo-they raise the price in the blink of an eye when the price of oil rises slightly-but takes weeks to drop a token few cents. Can you say collusion? The same stuff the mob gets tossed in prison for-collusion, racketeeering ,etc.-the business world gets a free pass. I forgot- the mob doesn’t have paid lobbyists on K Street in DC

I just love the “analysts” who have “fears.” Based on these “fears,” our gas prices jump $0.15-$0.20 cents overnight as mentioned here.
This is a load of garbage. So because some idiot who has a nameplate on his desk that says “Analyst” and is somehow qualified to determine what constitutes “fear” decides how much we pay for gas?
The government is ridiculous. So are the organizations that [don't] regulate gas supply & demand. Some guy in a closed office with no windows is “worried” about the world and gas prices shoot up.
    It’s a racket.

Don’t ask me why, but I love this guy. I had no prior knowledge of him until I saw this figure on the back of the Blue Beetle card. I’d go as far as to say he motivated me to pick up wave 7 and start collecting DCUC (!). Mine did come with a messed up emblem, though. It’s missing a small section on one of the outer loops. Kind of depressing because it was the only Aquaman figure I had come across at that point and I really wanted to complete AS. Of course I saw another Aquaman at Wal-mart last and almost bought him just to switch out the torso and return him, but decided against it because the rest of the torso had sloppy paint. It would just be an endless cycle. I determined it would be easier to fix the logo myself.
