DuPree leaves WBBM to reunite with Ebert

Don DuPree, who was hired by WBBM-Ch. 2 15 months ago as assistant news director, is leaving the station after next month’s elections. DuPree is the former director of “Siskel & Ebert” and executive producer of “Ebert & Roeper and the Movies.”

Mike North joins Fox Sports Radio

Mike North, whose “Monsters & Money in the Morning” went south in short order, is joining Fox Sports Radio. The syndicate’s announcement came Tuesday, less than a week after CBS-owned WBBM-Ch. 2 said it would drop North’s little-watched “Monsters & Money” early morning program after just seven months. Meteorologist hired for Ch. 2’s new morning news show

The new morning show at WBBM-Ch. 2 to debut this month might not have a name yet, but it does have a new meteorologist.

It will be Megan Glaros from WCBS in New York, WBBM confirmed. Glaros, who hails from Dyer, Ind., and attended Indiana University, was the New York station’s weekend morning meteorologist and entertainment reporter. Get the full story »

Ch. 2 cancels ‘Monsters & Money’

CBS affiliate WBBM-Ch. 2 is slaying its “Monster.”

The show “Monsters & Money in the Morning,” which debuted Feb. 1 in the 5 to 7 a.m. weekday slot, will be canceled because of poor viewership. The last show will air Aug. 27. Get the full story »

Kate Sullivan new anchor at WBBM-Ch. 2

Kate Sullivan, a morning anchor at CBS New York flagship WCBS-TV, is headed to Chicago’s perennially struggling, oft-changing WBBM-Ch. 2, according to multiple reports.

Sullivan will be teamed with Rob Johnson on Channel 2’s 10 p.m. weeknight newscast after Labor Day, a Chicago Public Media report said. CBS-owned WBBM had no immediate comment, although staffers reportedly were told Wednesday.
