Ebert to be honored by Chicago Headline Club

Chicago Sun-Times film critic Roger Ebert, WTTW-Ch. 11 reporter Elizabeth Brackett and former Chicago Tribune correspondent Richard C. Longworth will be honored as lifetime achievement award winners next month’s Peter Lisagor Awards dinner, the Chicago Headline Club has announced.

Roger Ebert names ‘At the Movies’ co-host

Ignatiy Vishnevetsky, a Russian-born 24-year-old Chicago-based online film critic for mubi.com, has been named to replace co-host Elvis Mitchell opposite the Associated Press’ Christy Lemire on public television’s “Ebert Presents at the Movies.”

Ebert’s new ‘At the Movies’ debuts Jan. 21

“Roger Ebert Presents At the Movies,” the new Chicago-based public-television movie-review show being shepherded by the Chicago Sun-Times’ esteemed film critic, is set to make its debut Jan. 21 in 192 U.S. markets, Ebert announced Monday night via Twitter.

The program also will be available to U.S. servicemen and women around the world through the Armed Forces Network, Ebert said.

DuPree leaves WBBM to reunite with Ebert

Don DuPree, who was hired by WBBM-Ch. 2 15 months ago as assistant news director, is leaving the station after next month’s elections. DuPree is the former director of “Siskel & Ebert” and executive producer of “Ebert & Roeper and the Movies.”

Roger Ebert to produce new movie show

From The Chicago Sun-Times | Roger Ebert and his wife Chaz announced Friday that they will produce a weekly film-review program called “Roger Ebert Presents At the Movies,” which will be a half hour long. The program continues the 35-year-old run of a reviewing format first introduced by Gene Siskel and Ebert and later by Ebert and Richard Roeper.
