428,000 Hondas recalled; may roll in park

2003 Honda Civic is involved in the ignition interlock recall.

Honda Motor Co. said Monday it was recalling more than 428,000 vehicles in the United States and Canada because of a defect that could cause the cars to roll away if they are parked incorrectly.

The Honda recall covers Accord, Civic and Element models from the 2003 and 2004 model years in the U.S. That recall includes 384,220 vehicles. Get the full story »

96,000 Fisher-Price Campsites recalled

Fisher-Price, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada Thursday announced a voluntary recall of approximately 96,000 Little People Play-n-Go Campsites in the U.S. (14,000 in Canada) because of a choking hazard, according to an Aug. 5 CPSC press release.

The recalled seven-piece plastic play set contains a character named Sonya Lee, who can break at her waist and expose small parts that could pose a choking hazard to children.

No injuries have been reported, but Fisher-Price, a division of Mattel based in East Aurora, N.Y., said it has received eight reports of the Sonya Lee figure breaking.

417,000 Toyota Avalons, Lexus LX470s recalled

Toyota Motor Corp. said Thursday that it would recall nearly 417,000 high-end passenger cars and SUVs in the United States and Canada to fix steering problems.

Nissan recalls 51,100 Cubes

2010 Nissan Cube

Nissan Motor Co. is recalling 51,100 Cube compacts in North America after U.S. safety regulators said a fuel leak could cause fire after a crash, the regulator and the automaker said Monday.

The chance that 2009 and 2010  Cubes could leak fuel if struck from the rear at 50 miles per hour led to the recall, documents from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration show. Get the full story »

30,000 Nap Nanny baby recliners recalled

The death of a 4-month-old girl has prompted the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Baby Matters LLC on Monday to issue a voluntary recall of approximately 30,000 Nap Nanny baby recliners. The CPSC is investigating a report that the infant, from Royal Oak, Mich., died in a Nap Nanny being used in a crib.

Toyota has fix for recalled Siennas

From Bloomberg News | Toyota has come up with the repair for some 600,000 Sienna minivans recalled three months ago because the spare tire cable could corrode.

Models from 1998-2010 are included.

NHTSA: Toyota recall probe not done

The government said Wednesday it had not reached any conclusions about whether Toyota drivers may be to blame for their vehicles suddenly accelerating, a problem that has led to millions of recalled cars and trucks since last year.

82,000 Pottery Barn cribs recalled

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled 82,000 Pottery barn cribs on the same day it has made strides to ban drop-side cribs.

Chrysler, Ford recall 55,000 2010 vehicles

From the Wall Street Journal | Chrysler is recalling 22,118 2010 Dodge Nitro, Dodge Ram, Jeep Liberty and Jeep Wrangler trucks and SUVs over a potential brake defect.

And Ford is recalling 33,728 2010 Transit Connect vans to replace pushpins holding up the cabin headliners.

Recall of odd-smelling Tylenol, Motrin expanded

Johnson & Johnson is expanding a recall of over-the-counter drugs including Tylenol and Motrin IB because of a musty or moldy smell.

The McNeil Consumer Healthcare business says it is recalling 21 lots of over-the-counter drugs sold in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Fiji, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica. Get the full story »

Lexus recall 3 years in making, Toyota says

Toyota Motor Corp. said Tuesday that it had received reports more than three years ago of faulty engine valve springs at the center of a U.S. recall of nearly 139,000 luxury Lexus vehicles it announced last week.

Great Kitchens Inc., an Illinois firm that distributes frozen food to Wal-Mart, is recalling some 109,800 pounds of BBQ chicken pizza products because they may contain foreign materials.

Scope recalled over defective caps

Consumer products maker Procter & Gamble Co. on Friday recalled certain one-liter bottles of Scope Original Mint and Scope Peppermint mouthwash in the U.S. and Canada because their child-resistant caps might malfunction.

Children’s tiaras recalled over lead concerns

About 7,300 children’s tiaras, made in China and imported by Wilton Industries Inc. of Woodridge,  have been recalled because they  contain high levels of lead, which is dangerous for young children.

8,400 baby walkers recalled

Suntech Enterprises is recalling approximately 8,400 baby walkers that can fit through standard doorways and “fail to have sufficient stair-fall protection to prevent falls down stairs,” according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
