Ted Lilly cuts price on Wrigleyville home

ELITE STREET | By Bob Goldsborough | Former Chicago Cubs pitcher Ted Lilly on Tuesday cut the asking price of his five-bedroom, 5,400-square-foot house just west of Wrigley Field from $2.4 million to $2.1 million. Bulls coach Thibodeau leases in Highland Park

ELITE STREET | By Bob Goldsborough | New Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau has leased a three-bedroom row home just west of downtown Highland Park for $4,900 a month.

In June, Thibodeau, 52, inked a three-year, $6.5 million deal with the Bulls. On July 23, Thibodeau signed another contract to rent the eight-room home, which was built in 2007. It has three full baths, two half baths, one fireplace, a gourmet kitchen, a study, an elevator and a finished lower level. Get the full story »

Bulls guard Korver buys $1.38M Glencoe mansion

ELITE STREET | By Bob Goldsborough | Chicago Bulls guard and forward Kyle Korver has paid $1.38 million for a 16-room mansion in Glencoe that once was listed for $2.95 million.

Korver, 29, signed a three-year, $15 million contract during the summer to join the Bulls from the Utah Jazz. Now, he has become the rare Bull to buy in Glencoe. Most Chicago-area homeowning Bulls over the years have bought downtown or in other northern suburbs like Northbrook, Highland Park and Lake Forest. Get the full story »

New Kellogg dean buys $885K Evanston home

From Chicago Magazine | The 30-room Wilmette mansion where the now-imprisoned political wheeler-dealer Tony Rezko threw fundraisers for Barack Obama and Rod Blagojevich is undergoing renovations by its new owners, Dan Johnson, the managing director of Citadel Investment Group, and his wife, Katherine “Katsy” Johnson, an artist.

The couple bought the house from Bank of America for $3.71 million last March through a trust that does not identify them in public records. Chicago Magazine’s Dennis Rodkin said he learned their names last week through a source. Get the full story >>

Jamie Dimon slashes price on Gold Coast mansion

The Tribune has learned that the eight-bedroom, 13,500-square-foot mansion now is listed for slightly more than half of Dimon’s original $13.5 million asking price for the home in 2007. Now based in New York, Dimon, 54, paid $4.68 million for the mansion in 2000. Get the full story »

Nicholas Pritzker puts Mich. mansion on market

ELITE STREET | By Bob Goldsborough | Nicholas Pritzker, the chief executive and chairman of the Hyatt Development Corp. and a member of the Pritzker family, has placed his 7,325-square-foot contemporary-style mansion on 45 acres on Lake Michigan in Covert, Mich. on the market for $4.95 million.

Pritzker and his wife Susan, who also live on the Gold Coast, have been dividing their time between Chicago and California lately, which is why they listed their estate in southwest Michigan, said listing agent Karen Strohl of Prudential Rubloff. Get the full story »
