2.2M circuit breakers recalled over fire risk

Siemens AG has recalled about 2.2 million circuit breakers that could cause fires, the company and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

The electronics company recalled Siemens and Murray 15- through 50-amp single- and double-pole circuit breakers, load centers and meter combos. The circuit breakers have date codes of 0610 or 0710, and the load centers and meter combos have date codes from June through Augugust 2010. Home Depot sees 2Q gains continuing for year

Home Depot Inc. still sees room for profit growth this year as consumers take up long-delayed maintenance and repair projects for their homes.

The company posted a higher-than-expected quarterly profit and raised its full-year earnings forecast Tuesday, helped by cost controls. Lowe’s weak 2Q still beats Wall St. expectation

Lowe’s Cos. posted weaker-than-expected quarterly results but kept its forecast for same-store sales growth this year, assuring investors it will benefit once U.S. consumer demand picks up.
