FatWallet.com leaving Illinois for Wisconsin

    Actually, it’s consumers who are the tax dodgers. Consumers are supposed to pay the state when a retailer – online, catalog, etc – doesn’t collect and remit the sales tax on the consumer’s behalf. Amazon doesn’t owe the sales tax. The purchaser does. This issue is about collection and remittance.
