Sportscaster Kashul sticks with Naperville

Elite Street | By Bob Goldsborough | In the end, veteran sportscaster Steve Kashul couldn’t bear to leave Naperville.

In 2009, Kashul, who does Chicago Bulls broadcasts on WMVP-AM and hosts a weekly golf show on Comcast SportsNet Chicago,  told Elite Street that while he loved Naperville — hometown of his wife, Cindy — he wanted to move closer to his full-time job as membership director for the private Kemper Lakes Golf Club in Kildeer.

Between Naperville, Kildeer, and the United Center, Kashul had said he was just spending too much time behind the wheel.

Last year, Kashul sold his three-bedroom, ranch-style house in Naperville, which included a basement bowling alley, for $475,000 and began renting while looking for a place closer to Kildeer.  Ultimately, however, he and his wife found Naperville “just too hard to leave.”

The couple just paid $385,000 for a four-bedroom, 2,780-square-foot house near downtown Naperville.

“Too many things came together,” Kashul said.  “We just fell in love with Naperville, our in-laws are close, my wife is from here, our son is in grade school here and we saw a house we just loved.  It’s a perfect home for a family.”

Built in 1981, the house has 2-1/2 baths and a three-car garage.

The house originally was listed for $425,000 and later reduced to $414,900.
