Chrysler Group LLC Chief Sergio Marchionne said he wants to “re-think” the automaker’s iconic minivan and introduce a new concept as early as 2013.

“We need to make minivan more versatile,” Marchionne said in a speech at the plant celebrating the launch of the 2011 Town & Country and Dodge Caravan minivans. “They need to be people movers.”
Marchionne made the comments when, in a rare move, he set aside prepared remarks to share his vision for the plant.

“This is a great plant and its future, without a doubt, is guaranteed,” Marchionne said. “We are not going to give up one inch in the market.”
