Chicago-area group provides $2M in gas rebates

A Chicago-area group that provides rebates to natural gas customers says it provided more than $2 million in savings since 2008.

The Chicagoland Natural Gas Savings Program says it also has prevented more than 7.5 million pounds of carbon dioxide from entertain the atmosphere. The program is funded by Peoples Gas ratepayers and encourages customers to make energy efficient home and business improvements.

Rebates are available to those who want to install energy efficient natural gas heating equipment and attic installation. Customers can get rebates up to $850.
