CF Industries Holdings Inc. has agreed to sell four dry fertilizer warehouses to a regional agriculture cooperative, the company said Thursday.
The fertilizer supplier, based in Deerfield, said the space is no longer needed because more dry fertilizer is being shipped directly from factories to consumers.
The warehouses are being sold to GROWMARK Inc., based in Bloomington. The warehouses are suited to help wholesalers such as GROWMARK meet seasonal surges in fertilizer demand, CF Industries Vice President Bert Frost said in a statement.
CF Industries is a global manufacturer and distributor of fertilizer. Its facilities include nitrogen fertilizer factories in the central U.S. and Canada and phosphate mines in central Florida.
CF Industries shares added a dollar, to $138.02 Thursday.
