Shoe maker Crocs said its Chief Financial Officer Russell Hammer resigned to head the financial team at a Chicago-based public company.

The company, which installed John McCarvel as Chief Executive Officer earlier this year after the sudden retirement of former CEO John Duerden, said a search for Hammer’s successor is underway.

Hammer has been the company’s CFO since January 2008, prior to which he spent three decades with mobile phone and wireless services provider Motorola.

Niwot, Colorado-based Crocs’ shares fell 2 percent to $18.35 in extended trade on Wednesday. They closed at $18.69 on Nasdaq.
