Microsoft to unveil Windows Phone 7 on Oct. 11

Microsoft Corp. plans to unveil its Windows Phone 7 on Oct. 11 in a bid to catch up in the mobile phone market.

The software firm announced the launch on its Web site, posting an invitation to the unveiling in New York next Monday.

The introduction of Windows Phone 7, an overhauled verstion of the company’s cell phone operating system, is expected to help Microsoft compete against Apple Inc.’s iPhone and Google Inc.’s Android operating system.

The Wall Street Journal reported the launch on Friday, citing AT&T as Microsoft’s initial, exclusive partner.

    So the rest of us sticking with Microsoft OS on our existing phones like mine on the Sprint network S.O.L. to upgrade our OS. Thanks again Big M. P.S. Hey Mr Sprint, I guess my $200 a month bill is not worth having as a customer
