Bankrupt mall owner General Growth Properties Inc. is in talks to hire Vornado Realty Trust executive Sandeep Mathrani as its next chief executive, The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday.
A board committee has focused on Mathrani after a six-week search that had included Developers Diversified Realty Chief Executive Dan Hurwitz, the newspaper said in its electronic edition.
Hurwitz told the newspaper he was not a candidate.
General Growth was not immediately available to comment.
