Currency, acquisitions boost Grainger sales in July

W.W. Grainger reported a large increase in daily sales for last month, with some of the gain attributed to acquisitions and foreign exchange rates.

The Chicago-based company said daily sales in July increased 21 percent from a year ago, including a 5 percentage point contribution from an acquisition in Japan and 1 percent point increase attributed to foreign exchange.

The supplier of a broad array of maintenance products said U.S. sales last month rose 17 percent from a year ago.
