More than 1,000 Illinois residents have submitted applications for a new federally funded health insurance program for people with medical problems. Enrollment opened Friday. Illinois Department of Insurance Director Michael McRaith calls it an “enthusiastic response.”

Enrollees will pay monthly premiums ranging from about $110 to $650. There’s also a $2,000 annual deductible and 80 percent-20 percent coinsurance.

Coverage begins Sept. 1 for eligible enrollees. Benefits include primary and specialty care, hospital care and prescription drugs.

Legal residents who’ve been uninsured for at least six months are eligible. Applicants must show they’re uninsured because of a pre-existing medical condition.

Should we be supprised that IL residnets (Primarily perfectly able bodied people) will line up to live off the backs of their neighbors. Isn’t that What liberal states are all about.
