Reuters | Britain’s Takeover Panel on Wednesday criticized Kraft Foods over its purchase of Cadbury, forcing Kraft’s lead banking adviser Peter Kiernan to pull out of his designated role as the panel’s new Director General.

The panel said Kraft did not meet its standards by saying it should be in a position to keep Cadbury’s Somerdale factory in southwest England open, but later saying the factory would close when it completed its takeover of the British confectioner.
