Associated Press | OfficeMax plans to close its Casper call
center and terminate the facility’s 250 employees. The Naperville-based
company’s three other call centers — in Bristol, Va., Peru, Ill., and
Ottawa, Ill. — will remain open.
Spokeswoman Jennifer Rook says the company notified employees Thursday of the July 30 closure. The Naperville-based office supplies retailer has operated the Casper facility since 1998.
Rook says more than 60 percent of the 250 employees hold full-time positions. Severance packages and career service counseling will be available to eligible employees.
Rook says the decision was driven by operating infrastructure costs.
