By Wailin Wong | Personal
income in Illinois fell 2.1 percent during 2009, outstripping the
national average decline of 1.7 percent, according to estimates
released by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.

The 2.1 percent decline ranked Illinois 38th in the nation. The BEA
said just six states saw growth in personal income in 2009, with West
Virginia’s 2.1-percent gain topping the list. Illinois also ranked
fourth out of the five Great Lakes states as classified by the BEA. In
the region, the only state to see a larger decline than Illinois was
Michigan, where personal income dropped 3 percent.

Looking at the data by industry, the largest earnings declines in Illinois tracked patterns seen elsewhere in the country, with durable goods and construction showing the biggest losses.

On a per capita basis, Illinois’ personal income dropped 2.7 percent in 2009, roughly in line with a 2.6-percent decline nationally.

Does this officially confirm what the residents of IL have been telling you for the past 2 years, Gov. Quinn??? Now tell us how you make a case for an income tax increase before there is any cut in spending by the state? And you need to quit playing the “cut essential services” card. It’s time to take the leeches out and bleed our “esteemed”, double-dipping legislators and their hacks before you go after the rest of us.
And I’ll back up the call for a state financial audit. There is no corporation or even small business that doesn’t audit its books when any high-ranking executives is let go or leaves voluntarily.

With the coming tax increases, look for it to get worse. Same with the employment market.

Wages go down, taxes go up and the Democrats ‘little warriors’ in the union are demanding raises.
    Reality………………………………Democrats

Pat Quinn is doing a very good job. He is doing better than any GOP gov ever could do.

More like, can’t sell a home in Chicago. People need to reduce their asking prices by a good 50%.

Really???????? Give us some proof, like comparable statistics from Indiana.
Other than that, you are just blowing smoke and can’t be believed.

Most insurance companies’ websites are secure. It’s the local or small insurance co that dont have secure websites and bind coverage for small periods of time. As far as online quotes are concerned if you dont provide a VIN # at the time of quoting, the quote is pretty much a “ball park” figure. Without the VIN, the quote will rate the vehicle as far as statistics are concerned and you as the principal operator. Of course there are MANY factors that come into play when rating is taken into consideration on an auto policy.
