By Jon Yates | An
Orland Park man who received two dozen unwarranted parking tickets has
sued the city of Chicago and two police officers in federal court.

The lawsuit, filed by Mark Geinosky, alleges police officers Kenneth
Wilkerson and Steven Sabatino repeatedly issued Geinosky false parking
tickets, and that their conduct was an “egregious arbitrary abuse of
government power that shocks the conscience.”

I pray he wins his suit. Why does it take so long to investigate? Protecting their own, plain and simple. OK, now you pay!!!

    Yeah, baby!
When are the Chicago functionaries going to learn that you simply cannot hide from the Fed. Do what is right, or the Fed will come a-knocking. Either with the prosecutor, or through the Federal court system.
The old days are gone, gentlemen. Corruption is on the way out. We’ve all had enough already.
    Hello!

I wonder how the ex wife got them to write those tickets? Hmmm inquiring minds want to know.

Those cops are heroes who put their lives on the line every day – never knowing which bogus ticket they write or 90 lb female bartender they beat will be their last.

None of this surprises me. Yesterday I saw a cop on Kimball writing tickets at 6:55 a.m…..5 minutes before the parking restrictions took effect. Makes me question the ticket I once got at 7:01 a.m.

WOW, just another person trying to make money off my taxes. Who’s going to have to pay to defend the city, and pay any winnings he gets? Thats right, my tax dollars will pay.

Corruption in Chicago? Really? You must be kidding.

This makes me extremely happy! Anything that exposes the corruption and bad behavior of the cops is welcomed. Personally, any money awarded should come entirely from the CPD pension funds. That may be the only way the bad cops learn.

I’m glad someone’s finally doing something about the unwarranted parking tickets. I got one once for not having a residential parking permit on a NON-ZONE street! I contested it and never heard anything, but then the tickets just kept coming… for being an inch too close to a fire hydrant, for parking in a handicapped spot (I was in the spot in front of it), for having ‘expired plates’ (they weren’t). They finally booted and towed my car — and dropped it off the tow truck bed, completely damaging all the undercarriage bars so they had to be replaced. When I tried to complain, they said I drove it off the lot that way, so they weren’t responsible. It cost me thousands of dollars — I eventually gave up and just paid the tickets, the towing, the car repair. And then I sold the car so I wouldn’t be targeted by them again.

I get tickets all the time in Chicago for illegal parking. I the have to contest the tickets, showing my disability parking placard. I have complained to the city but got no response from the ombudsman’s office.

Hum in 35 years of living in Chicago I have received 1 parking ticket in which it was my fault. I got an idea park legal. I love how the police haters get on here and bash them for doing their job.

This stuff goes on in the suburbs as well. I became the target of an aggressive little metermaid in Arlington Heights who travels around the commuter parking garages looking for violations.
One evening I came back to my car to find a ticket for not properly displaying my monthly garage pass. Sure enough, the condensation on my rear window caused it to drop on to the rear window ledge — a frequent problem for a lot of people that park there. But the pass was still clearly visible. I marched down to the police station with my parking pass in hand and they dismissed it and said they would talk to him.
After my complaint is when the harassment started. Ticket after ticket came. And it got worse when I used the pay box instead of the monthly pass. The pay boxes do not issue receipts — you just plunk your money in the slot and it’s your word against the meter maid if you paid.

I too get numerous tickets due to the Metermaids so last week I ordered Disabled Plates ((An EXTRA $29.00)) so they will no longer have the excuse of not seeing the placard. I will use my placard if I need someone to drive me to the Dr’s etc.. and hope we do not get a ticket.

The Iz, did you even bother to read the article? Did you read the info which proves immediately that some of the tickets were bogus? (Answers to those questions are ‘no’ and ‘no’, obviously.)
So I’m curious, what’s the connection with with Geinosky’s ex-wife and the cops? Is she dating a cop or something?
