Glencoe businessman gets five years for tax fraud

WGN News Desk | A north suburban businessman was sentenced to serve five years in
federal prison after failing to report more than $5.3 million of income
over 10 years, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Jon Darmstadter, 57, of Glencoe, was sentenced yesterday in Federal
Court in Chicago.


He was ordered by U.S. District Judge David H. Coar to begin serving the
60-month-term on May 17th. He was also ordered to pay restitution to
the United States for the taxes he owed.

In the 1990s and 2000s, Darmstadter was an executive of the Children’s
Beverage Group, Inc. (CBG), a publicly-traded company in Northbrook.
