ready to offer technology and experience to help the Midwest develop
high-speed rail, a representative from French national rail operator
SNCF said Thursday at the Golden Spike seminar at Valparaiso University.

presented a plan for creating a $68.5 billion high-speed rail system in
the Midwest with Chicago as its hub, saying it would be a catalyst for
thousands of jobs.

What needs to be remembered is the name ACELA. By the time the US Dept of Transportaion and other got done with “redesigning” the trains for “safety” they weren’t high speed and they were less safe because the brakes couldn’t stop the extra bulk added.
If this means jobs for the unemployed millions of americans, then it doesn’t matter where the help comes from, more power to the help.
